My TBR List for 2026

Books, books, and more books!

“A room without books is like a body without a soul” -Cicero

It is time for the yearly TBR list! If you are like me you have spent the entire month of January starting yours. I know some get ahead and start in December however, I like to start in January. There is something that is just so comforting about a fresh TBR list. New stories waiting to be read, that quiet excitement when choosing what to read next, the joy of purchasing a new book, and sharing our reads with others that love to read. I have a steadily growing TBR list as do many of us. While I may not get to all of these reads I wanted to share them here with you and give you some more books to add to yours. Some of these books I have been meaning to read for the past year however life sometimes has other plans for us even though we would just love to sit and read all day. It’s just not possible. This year my goal is to actually read everything I buy. Will we get there? Most likely not. BUT, we will have more books to choose from! Here is my TBR list for you, Enjoy!

The Montessori Child - Davies/Uzodike

Description: When children are given independence, the tools to succeed, and the encouragement to build on their abilities, it’s amazing what they can achieve. The newest book in the bestselling Montessori series is an everything-you-need-to-know guide to raising your school-aged child (from 3–12 years old, with a bonus chapter for the teen years) in the Montessori way. Educators Simone Davies and Junnifa Uzodike provide an in-depth, practical guide to incorporating Montessori principles into readers’ everyday lives, with advice on everything from setting up your home in ways that encourage curiosity and independence to supporting your child’s social and moral development with a balance of limit'setting and age-appropriate freedoms.

The book includes dozens of hands-on activities to help foster your child's love of numbers and literacy, art and science, and ones that encourage community-building, social awareness, and connection with the natural world. The Montessori Child offers a powerful alternative for parents who feel that family life has gotten too complicated by showing parents how to make more intentional choices for your family, how to better understand the needs of your children, and support them as they develop their unique potential.

Being a parent that approached the Montessori method early on with my son I have read through previous books and recommend this series to any parent exploring the Montessori parenting method. Previous books include: The Montessori Baby & The Montessori Toddler.

Paper Flowers - Jessica Jocelyn

Description: From childhood trauma to toxic romantic relationships, the wounds run deep from only ever experiencing transactional "love" with conditions as a child. While the complexity of loss never truly leaves one's heart, mind, and soul, reparenting oneself makes the rollercoaster journey less harrowing.

This five-part collection of poems is for those determined souls who are grieving what never was and slowly healing by becoming the mother they always hoped for and needed as a child.

Paper flowers may never bloom in the conventional sense, but each vulnerable page blossoms into a botanical garden of reassurance and self-empowerment.

If you have a taste for poetry like I do this is from what I hear an excellent add to the TBR list!

Game On - Navessa Allen

Description: I hate that woman.

Tyler Neumann has spent years looking for his father, and not because he wants to meet the man. No, he wants to destroy him. And he'll manipulate whoever he can to exact his revenge.

Including Stella McCormick. She's everything Tyler hates. Her wealth and privilege have protected her for her entire life, and Tyler thinks it's time she finally paid the price. Whether she's ready to or not.

I hate that man.

Stella might not believe in love at first sight, but loathing at first sight-no question. From the moment she sets eyes on Tyler in her tattoo parlor, she knows he's the devil planning to make her life hell.

Forced to play the part of his girlfriend and invite him into her family's glittering circles, Stella quickly clocks Tyler's ulterior motives. But love and hate are two sides of the same coin, and soon she doesn't know which is worse: being blackmailed by a man who wants to ruin her, or that they can't seem to keep their hands off each other.

This is the third book of the series by Navessa Allen. This series is for all the smut lovers. It is honestly one of personal favorites and I always recommend it!!

Caught Up - Vanessa Allen

Description: I wanted this woman, and I was a man who always got what he wanted.

Nico “Junior” Trocci knows Lauren Marchetti is off limits. She is sweetness and laughter, whereas Junior exists in a world of violence and depravity. Men like him don’t get to have women like her. It’s why he pushed her away back in high school and kept his distance ever since.

But when Junior looks Lauren up online, he discovers the shy, bookish girl he remembers is gone. In her place is a strikingly beautiful woman whose social media is filled with scantily clad pictures of herself and a connection to a nearby play club. Junior’s innocent curiosity quickly turns into a dark obsession. Watching Lauren from a distance isn’t enough; he needs to make her his.

He’s ruthless; a walking red flag. Good thing red is my favorite color.

Lauren is intrigued by the mystery man who keeps showing up at her club, who tempts her white-hot desires. But as their flirty online messages stir up a deeper form of connection, Lauren worries she’s developing real feelings for this brooding stranger. As their combined desire ratchets up to a breaking point, who will seduce who?

I have yet to read this second book of the series by Navessa Allen. I am looking forward to reading this one as well!

But they can coexist—as the incredible roster of women in this book demonstrate, entrepreneurship can be both a sustainable and fulfilling model for working motherhood. • The benefits of sharing financial information with your peers

  • Key points to include when drafting a contract

  • Creative ways to include your kids in your work

  • The value of building support systems, from advisory boards to nanny shares

As a small business owner I find books like these inspiring and I love to hear other women/moms stories on how they balanced motherhood and being an entrepreneur.

In The Company of Women- Grace Bonney

Description: “I want to rip out every page of this glorious book and hang them on my wall so that I can be surrounded by these incredible women all day long.”
—Emma Straub, New York Times bestselling author of The Vacationers and Modern Lovers

Over 100 exceptional and influential women describe how they embraced their creative spirit, overcame adversity, and sparked a global movement of entrepreneurship. Media titans and ceramicists, hoteliers and tattoo artists, comedians and architects—taken together, these profiles paint a beautiful picture of what happens when we pursue our passions and dreams.

I have previously read this book and loved it! It is extremely motivating to hear some women’s stories on how they became who they are and where they came from starting from scratch. I like to re-read it to help motivate myself with my small business and being an entrepreneur.

ACOTAR Series

Description: Feyre is a huntress. The skin of a wolf would bring enough gold to feed her sisters for a month. But the life of a magical creature comes at a steep price, and Feyre has just killed the wrong wolf.

Follow Feyre's journey into the dangerous, alluring world of the Fae, where she will lose her heart, face her demons, and learn what she is truly capable of.

The world expands in A Court of Silver Flames with the story of Feyre's fiery sister, Nesta.

I have previously read the ACOTAR series and it is the sole reason that I have returned to reading books again. If you are someone who finds it difficult to get into a book I can’t recommend this series enough.
